State of the art on composite cold‐formed steel flooring systems

Abstract: This article presents a comprehensive review of the state of the art in composite cold‐formed steel flooring research over the past couple of years. The most relevant and significant literature references were reviewed to provide some insights into trends and developments in composite cold‐formed steel floors. Advantages of this type of composite flooring system are also highlighted. A broad description of mainly two types of composite floor – mainly consisting of cold‐formed steel and concrete, and cold‐forme… Show more

“…CFS has a slender profile rather than HRS. Furthermore, some studies have discussed CFS as a structural component, such as beam component [23−33], flooring system [34], column component [35−38], portal frame [16][17][18][19]39], apex and eaves connection [40−43] and a connection between beam-column components [5−7, 10−15, 44−51] had already investigated in the previous study. Also, a study about the connection in HRS has been conducted [52−58].…”

“…One of such innovative solutions is the newly proposed structural system composed of built-up cold-formed steel (CFS) corrugated web girders and concrete slabs connected using the demountable shear connection [1]. The application of the CFS profiles in steel-concrete composite systems results in numerous advantages [2], while the presence of a corrugated web increases the stability of the steel beam [3].…”
