State-of-the-Art of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics Reviews in Five Different Domains: A Bibliometric Summary

Abstract: Academicians and practitioners have recently begun to accord Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics (BDA) significant consideration when exploring emerging research trends in different fields. The technique of bibliometric review has been extensively applied to the AI and BDA literature to map out existing scholarships. We summarise 711 bibliometric articles on AI & its sub-sets and BDA published in multiple fields to identify academic disciplines with significant research contributions. We pu… Show more

“…Including these terms highlights the ongoing digital transformation in tourism and how technology is reshaping how tourism destinations are managed and enjoyed. Also included in this list are the terms "smart destination" [91,92] and IoT [93], which suggest an interest in how tourism destinations can use technology to improve the tourist experience and destination management. This term is particularly related to the use of technology for the use of tourism information.…”

“…In order to achieve this, accurate and precise deductions are highly desirable in data analysis. For this purpose, recent technological advances have induced the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in various domains [24]; the use of machine learning in PA certainly constitutes one of these advances [25,26]. We hypothesized that, through this study, we would be able to discern specific patterns, characteristics, and subgroups of the population through machine learning, allowing us to better shape future policies targeting PA levels.…”
