Stark broadening of Kr UV spectral lines

Abstract: This work reports new data for the Stark parameters of doubly ionized krypton spectral lines. Stark widths and shifts of Kr III lines belonging to the UV region (245-300 nm) have been measured. A low-pressure pulsed arc, containing a mixture of 8% krypton and 92% helium, was used as a plasma source. Measured electron densities and electron temperatures were in the range (0.7-2.0)×10 23 m −3 and 16 000-20 000 K, respectively. Experimentally obtained data were compared to theoretical results calculated using sim… Show more

“…Similar disagreement exists between shift data. The differences between the present and other results [24,28,33] are between 32% and 55%, if we exclude the result from [24] for line 491.966 nm where only shift estimation is given. Only shift results [9,33] for the last line (454.523 nm) in the fifth multiplet in table 1 are in good agreement.…”

“…The calculations were performed only for cases where a complete set of perturbing levels, needed for calculations, were available [27]. Comparison was made only for the results from present and our previous works [8,9,28].…”
