“…A similar study comparing effects of an asthma book and video reported improved knowledge in 2‐ to 5‐year‐olds with asthma with both tools but the book was indicated to be a more effective medium (Holzheimer, Mohay, & Masters, ). Nonetheless, technologically improved interventions such as CD‐ROMs, videos, and games have all been used with varying success (Davis, Quittner, Stack, & Yang, ; Hazzard et al, ; Ketchen et al, ; McPherson, Glazebrook, Forster, James, & Smyth, ; Yoon & Godwin, ) and should not be discounted. Also, use of more than one tool simultaneously has shown even stronger benefits to outcome (Holzheimer et al, ) than use of a single tool and may be related to the longer time of interaction the participants are exposed to if undergoing a two‐pronged intervention.…”
