Stakeholder Engagement

Abstract

Stakeholder engagement is a central process to creating sustainable and successful community‐engaged health interventions. Strategies for recognizing, determining, selecting, and cultivating valuable stakeholder relationships when building community‐engaged health outcomes are discussed. Studies report that successful stakeholder engagement can prove effective in community‐engaged health promotion. This entry provides an overview of stakeholder relationships for community‐engaged health interventions. A breakdown of various stakeholders in the health communication literature is highlighted in this entry, including the community, organizations, government, and policymakers.
