Stability of tetracycline residues in honey

Abstract: The problem of availability of veterinary medicines to treat honeybees is discussed extensively worldwide. An uncontrolled administration of antibiotics may lead to contamination of beehive products and contributes to the problem of food safety. In this study, the kinetics of tetracycline (TC) degradation in honey was studied for samples provided by four sideline beekeepers located in the west region of Romania. The samples of honey were stored in the dark at room temperature for 30 days and subsamples w… Show more

“…There is antagonism between arginine and lysine in the body. With an increase in lysine in the diet, the arginine content in the body decreases due to an increase in arginase activity in kidneys (Cristina et al, 2012;Zai et al, 2013;Singh et al, 2015). With a one-sided increase in arginine in the diet, absorption of lysine in the intestine and reabsorption in the kidneys decrease.…”

“…Currently, farms are forced to use feed additives in feeding farm animals instead of animal feed, due to their high cost. Typically, in such diets there is a de iciency of protein, minerals and vitamins, which reduces animal productivity and increases feed consumption (Cristina et al, 2012;Zai et al, 2013;Singh et al, 2105).…”

“…Currently, the arsenal of methods for bacillus anthracis indication and differentiation is quite wide, ranging from traditional bacteriological and animal bioassays to luorescent antibody (FIA), indirect hemagglutination reaction (IHGA), immunoassay (ELISA) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) (Zai et al, 2013;Cristina et al, 2012).…”
