Stability-Indicating HPLC Method for Simultaneous Determination of Clidinium Bromide and Chlordiazepoxide in Combined Dosage Forms

Abstract: The study describes development and subsequent validation of a stability indicating reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography method for the simultaneous estimation of clidinium bromide (CLI) and chlordiazepoxide (CHLOR) from their combination drug product. Chromatographic separations are performed at ambient temperature on a Phenomenex Luna C(18) (250 mm x 4.6 mm, i.d., 5 microm) column using a mobile phase consisting of potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer (0.05 M, pH 4.0 adjusted with 0.5% ortho… Show more

“…Literature survey revealed many analytical methods for the determination of CDO either alone or in combination with other drugs. Some examples of these methods include ion-selective electrode [4], spectrophotometry [5][6][7][8], and HPLC [9][10][11]. Some methods were also applied to separate CDO from its photodegradation products [12] or impurities [13].…”

“…Due to various chlordiazepoxide functions, there is a great challenge to develop sensitive, simple, and high accuracy method for its extraction and determination from various real complicated matrices with low analyte concentration. Different analytical methods including spectrophotometry , LC , and voltammetry applied for determination of chlordiazepoxide in pharmaceutical formulations and plasma samples.…”
