Stability Constants of Mixed Ligand Complexes of Transition Metal(II) ions with N‐(2‐hydroxybenzylidene)‐2,3‐dimethylaniline as Primary Ligand and N‐(2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthylidene)‐4‐nitroaniline as Secondary Ligand

Abstract: Binary and ternary complexes of the type M-Y and M-X-Y [M=Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II); X=N-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2,3-dimethylaniline and Y =N-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthylidene)-4-nitroaniline] have been examined pH-metrically at 27±0.5 °C and at constant ionic strength, μ=0.1 M (KCl) in 75:25(v/v) 1,4-dioxne-water medium. The stability constants for binary (M-Y) and ternary (M-X-Y) systems were calculated.

“…Chrome can be taken via some drugs and foods such as meat , milk , vegetables and fruits [37]. The main benefit of this chemical element in these alloys is the inert protective oxide that forms on the surfaces in suitably oxidizing environments [38]. For full surface coverage by chromium oxide (Cr 2 O 3 ), more than 10% of Cr is required, and typically the range of Cr content is 15 -28%, for example in stainless steels [39].…”

“…In the field of coordination chemistry, metal ions perform vital roles in biological processes. The mineral complexes have been studied with the basic Schiff links to be utilized in the biological, clinical, analytical and pharmacological fields 1 .Schiff bases perform an important function in coordination chemistry because they easily form stable complexes with most transitional metal ions 2 .Schiff bases have a broad assortment of applications in different regions such as biological chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry 3 .Schiff bases are now attracting the attention of medicinal chemist. Schiff base containing an amine group (-RC=N-) are commonly formed by the intensification of an initial amine with an active carbonyl 4 .…”
