The transmission of production-limiting disease in farm, such as Neosporosis and Johne's disease, has brought a huge loss worldwide due to reproductive failure. This paper aims to provide a modeling framework for controlling the disease and investigating the spread dynamics of Neospora caninum-infected dairy as a case study. In particular, a dynamic model for production-limiting disease transmission in the farm is proposed. It incorporates the vertical and horizontal transmission routes and two vaccines. The threshold parameter, basic reproduction number R 0 , is derived and qualitatively used to explore the stability of the equilibria. Global stability of the disease-free and endemic equilibria is investigated using the comparison theorem or geometric approach. On the case study of Neospora caninum-infected dairy in Switzerland, sensitivity analysis of all involved parameters with respect to the basic reproduction number R 0 has been performed. Through Pontryagin's maximum principle, the optimal control problem is discussed to determine the optimal vaccination coverage rate while minimizing the number of infected individuals and control cost at the same time. Moreover, numerical simulations are performed to support the analytical findings. The present study provides useful information on the understanding of production-limiting disease prevention on a farm.

For some infectious diseases, such as herpes and tuberculosis, there is incomplete recovery and relapse. These phenomena make them difficult to control. In consequence of this status, an SEIRS epidemic model with incomplete recovery and relapse on networks is established and the global dynamics is studied. The results show that when the basic reproduction number R 0 <=1 the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable; when R 0 > 1, the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. In addition, in consideration of vaccination control strategy, an SVEIRS model is introduced and the optimal control is solved. At last, the theoretical results are illustrated with numerical simulations.

This study aims to determine the epidemic preparedness of junior high school students who have studied the respiratory system against the Covid-19 outbreak. Classification of diseases including pandemics, endemics or epidemics based on the area affected in a certain time. The increasing epidemic of Covid-19 has an impact on health, social and economy, especially in developing countries so that epidemic preparedness needs to be carried out for timely detection of epidemics followed by prompt and appropriate responses. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study, with the research design used is survey research. The subject of this study consisted of 554 junior high school students in several areas including West Java, Central Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, East Java, and Batam. The students have learned the respiratory system. Data collection was carried out in May 2020. The data collection method used was an online questionnaire through Google Form about epidemic preparedness especially Covid-19 which is a respiratory system disease. The results of the analysis showed that endemic preparedness in 8th and 9th grade junior high school students in several schools in Indonesia, showed an index of 73.97. That number is between 65 to 79 so that it can be categorized as advanced in endemic preparedness in the face of the current Covid-19 pandemic outbreak. The conclusion of this study is that the epidemic preparedness of junior high school students on the Covid-19 outbreak falls into the “Advanced” category.
