Abstract: St. John's wort (SJW) extract, a herbal medicine with antidepressant effects, is a potent inducer of intestinal and/or hepatic cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes and P‐glycoprotein (P‐gp), which can cause clinically relevant drug interactions.
