“…Kijiyama cauldron A new hornblende age of 36.4 ± 1.9 Ma was obtained for Kijiyama andesite from a probable cauldron in the Misasa district of Tottori Prefecture. This is consistent with a biotite age of 37 ± 5 Ma (Shibata and Yamada, 1965) from the Shimokoya granite, and a Rb-Sr whole rock isochron age of 36 ± 14 Ma (Sudo et al, 1988) from the Namariyama granophyres, both of which intrude the Kijiyama andesite. These data indicate Late Eocene volcano-plutonism in Kijiyama.…”
