Sporadic E at Brisbane

Abstract: SummaryFurther data are presented in support of McNicol and Gipps's classification of two types of sporadic E at Brisbane (lat. 27·5 oS.), namely, sequential type (Ess) and constant-height type (Esc) ' Information is given OIl the occurrence, critical and blanketing frequencies, reflection coefficients, range spreading, vertical movements, and lateral extent of Es patches.No correlation is found with sunspot cycle, meteor occurrence, or thunderstorm activity.
