Splenomegaly in sarcoidosis: Frequency, treatment, prognosis and long-term follow-up

Abstract: Splenomegaly was more frequent in chronic cases or in the patients with established sarcoid lesions of other extrapulmonary organs.The primary treatment of uncomplicated symptomatic splenic sarcoidosis includes medicamentous therapy. Occasionally, splenectomy is required. Prognostically, splenomegaly indicates an unfavorable course of the disease.
