Spinal anesthesia with 2% Mepivacaine for Lumbar Surgery in Prone Position

Abstract: The anesthetic management of patients for lumbar surgery is often difficult, due to advanced age, systemic disease, position on operating table.Spinal anesthsia with 2 % Mepivacaine have many advantage such as. 1) Good analgesia and muscle relaration can be achieved without respiratory or myocardial depression.2) Since the patient is induced in the operative position, no movement of the anesthetized patient is necessary.This report describes a technic of spinal anesthesia with isobaric solution.
