Spin‐Polarized Electrons Impact on Terahertz Emission by High‐Order Shift Current in CsPbBr3

Abstract: Ability to generate and manipulate spin‐polarized electrons is the cornerstone of prospective energy‐efficient spin‐based information processing technologies. Here, we report a novel method of generating transient spin‐polarized electrons by two‐photon absorption (TPA) in all‐inorganic perovskite CsPbBr3 using circularly polarized light (CPL) excitation. The photo‐generated transient spin‐polarized current serves as a source for terahertz emission detected in our experiment that shows quadratic pump fluence de… Show more

“…The nonlinear optical effect is the manifestation of the nonlinear optical response for various materials, including the photon drag effect (PDE) 6 and the photogalvanic effect (PGE). 7,8 The PDE is caused by the incident photon momentum transfer to the carriers within the light penetration depth. 9 The carriers are "dragged" in the direction of the light propagation, resulting in the generation of photon drag current.…”

“…Halide perovskites are very fertile materials for the fabrication of different nanophotonic structures, e.g., via nanostructuring or nanoimpirinting . Moreover, the optical resonant enhancement could also provide the possibility to efficiently excite hybrid perovskites via two-photon absorption , and extend the excitation wavelength range up to highly demanded infrared.…”
