Abstract:transition metal dichalcogenide heterostructures provide a fruitful platform for realizing interlayer excitons (IXs) with spatial separation between the charges. When Janus layers stack into the heterostructures, an extra electric field is introduced to manipulate the properties of the IXs. Here, we demonstrate how the intrinsic electric field of the Janus monolayer ZrNCl affects the IXs in the ZrS 2 /ZrNCl heterostructures via GW-BSE calculations. Our findings show that both stacking orders 1-S/N and 2-S/Cl w… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
