Abstract:Spin relaxation of spin-l/2 quantum particles on linear chains with random Larmor frequencies is studied. Wave packets are prepared with initial spin polarization in the propagation direction and with either zero, or finite group velocity. The discrete Schriidinger-Pauli equation is solved numerically. Exponential spin relaxation is observed in a restricted time range. The decay constant depends on the width of the distribution of the Larmor frequencies and on the group velocity. No dependence on the initial h… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
