Abstract:We derive the part of the Lagrangian for the sigma model on the η-deformed AdS 5 × S 5 space which is quadratic in fermions and has the full dependence on bosons. We then show that there exists a field redefinition which brings the corresponding Lagrangian to the standard form of type IIB Green-Schwarz superstring. Reading off the corresponding RR couplings, we observe that they fail to satisfy the supergravity equations of motion, despite the presence of κ-symmetry. However, in a special scaling limit our solution reproduces the supergravity background found by Maldacena and Russo. Further, using the fermionic Lagrangian, we compute a number of new matrix elements of the tree level world-sheet scattering matrix. We then show that after a unitary transformation on the basis of two-particle states which is not one-particle factorisable, the corresponding T-matrix factorises into two equivalent parts. Each part satisfies the classical Yang-Baxter equation and coincides with the large tension limit of the q-deformed S-matrix.

Lax pairs on Yang-Baxter deformed backgrounds

We explicitly derive Lax pairs for string theories on Yang-Baxter deformed backgrounds, 1) gravity duals for noncommutative gauge theories, 2) γ-deformations of S 5 , 3) Schrödinger spacetimes and 4) abelian twists of the global AdS 5 . Then we can find out a concise derivation of Lax pairs based on simple replacement rules. Furthermore, each of the above deformations can be reinterpreted as twisted boundary conditions with the undeformed background by using the rules. As another derivation, the Lax pair for gravity duals for noncommutative gauge theories is reproduced from the one for a q-deformed AdS 5 ×S 5 by taking a scaling limit.

The AdS 3 × S 3 string sigma model supported both by NS-NS and R-R fluxes has become a well known integrable model, however a putative dual field theory description remains incomplete. We study the anomalous dimensions of twist operators in this theory via semiclassical string methods. We describe the construction of a multi-cusp closed string in conformal gauge moving in AdS 3 with fluxes, which supposedly is dual to a general higher twist operator. After analyzing the string profiles and conserved charges for the string, we find the exact dispersion relation between the charges in the 'long' string limit. This dispersion relation in leading order turns out to be similar to the case of pure RR flux, with the coupling being scaled by a factor that depends on the amount of NS-NS flux turned on. We also analyse the case of pure NS flux, where the dispersion relation simplifies considerably. Furthermore, we discuss the implications of these results at length.
