Sphingomonas faucium sp. nov., isolated from canyon soil

Abstract: A Gram-stain-negative, strictly aerobic, non-motile, yellow, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain E62-3 T , was isolated from soil of Enshi Grand Canyon, Hubei province, PR China. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain E62-3 T was most closely related to Sphingomonas laterariae LNB2 T .
