Speed of Sound in Aqueous and Methanolic Lithium Nitrate Solutions

Abstract: Speeds of sound in aqueous and methanolic lithium nitrate solutions were measured as functions of concentration (0.0181 ≤ m/(mol·kg-1) ≤ 21.818) and temperature (273.15 ≤ T/K ≤ 323.15) at 2 MHz. The isentropic compressibility isotherms for aqueous lithium nitrate solutions converge at 3.75 mol·kg-1, and at this concentration the primary hydration shell of the solute has become just saturated. It has been estimated that there are 15 molecules of water in the primary hydration shell of lithium nitrate, and the c… Show more

“…But, only few experimental values cover our temperature and molality interval. The comparison of our results with those from reference[5] showed the 0.15% average deviation. The experimental density values of Kiepe et al[6] were determined at T = (283.16 to 313.15) K and m = (0.628 to 4.954) mol AE kg À1 .…”

“…The experimental density values of Kiepe et al[6] were determined at T = (283.16 to 313.15) K and m = (0.628 to 4.954) mol AE kg À1 . The average deviation of these results with our results is ±0.07%.The apparent molar volumes V / of LiNO 3 in methanol are defined by equation(5) and are listed in table 5:…”
