Shared Aperture Multibeam Forming of Time‐Modulated Linear Array

A novel technique is proposed in this paper for shared aperture multibeam forming in a complex time-modulated linear array. First, a uniform line array is interleaved randomly to form two sparse array subarrays. Subsequently, the theory of time modulation for linear arrays is applied in the constructed subarrays. In the meantime, the switch-on time sequences for each element of the two subarrays are optimized by an optimized differential evolution (DE) algorithm, i.e., the scaling factor of the sinusoidal iterative chaotic system and the adaptive crossover probability factor are used to enhance the diversity of the population. Lastly, the feasibility of the new technique is verified by the comparison between this technique and the basic multibeam algorithm in a shared aperture and the algorithm of iterative FFT. The results of simulations confirm that the proposed algorithm can form more desired beams, and it is superior to other similar approaches.

This paper studies an advanced intelligent recognition method of underwater target based on unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) vision system. This method is called kernel two-dimensional nonnegative matrix factorization (K2DNMF) which can further improve underwater operation capability of the UUV vision system. Our contributions can be summarized as follows: (1) K2DNMF intends to use the kernel method for the matrix factorization both on the column and row directions of the two-dimensional image data in order to transform the original low-dimensional space with nonlinearity into a higher dimensional space with linearity; (2) In the K2DNMF method, a good subspace approximation to the original data can be obtained by the orthogonal constraint on column basis matrix and row basis matrix; (3) The column basis matrix and row basis matrix can extract the feature information of underwater target images, and an effective classifier is designed to perform underwater target recognition; (4) A series of related experiments were performed on three sets of test samples collected by the UUV vision system, the experimental results demonstrate that K2DNMF has higher overall target detection accuracy than the traditional underwater target recognition methods.

There are multiple reasons for the evolution as well as the presence of noise over transmitted GSM signal. In spite of various approaches towards noise cancellation techniques, there are less applicable techniques for controlling noise in acoustic GSM signal. Therefore, the proposed manuscript presents an integrated modelling which performs modelling of noise identification that could significantly assist in successful noise cancellation. The proposed system uses three different approach viz. i) stochastic based approach for noise modelling, ii) analytical-based approach where allocated power acts as one of the prominent factors of noise, and iii) wavelet-based approach for effective decomposition of GSM signal for assisting better noise cancellation technique followed by better retention of signal quality. Simulated in MATLAB, the study outcome shows that it offers a cost-effective implementation, A Practical Approach for Noise identification, and Effective Noise Cancellation with Signal quality retention. The proposed system offers approximately 24% of enhancement in noise reduction as compared to any existing digital filters with 1.6 seconds faster in processing speed.
