Speculations About the Indo-European Cardinals 5-10

Abstract: SUMMARYOn the basis of some recent research in Indo-European phonology and morphology, it is suggested in this paper that the IE cardinals 5 to 10 were subject to affixation by non-singular markers. These markers, probably originating as quantitative enclitic adverbs, were added to these numerals in order to hypercharacterize their inherent non-singular meaning.
