Abstract:ABSTRACT:Concept of the Spectrum Conversion Factor (SCF), the ratio of the equivalent velocity (total energy input to structures) and spectral velocity (peak response velocity), is introduced and relationships between the standard deviation of phase difference (σ) and SCF are investigated. With damping, σ-SCF relations always have a positive slope, and the slopes are steeper in higher frequency band or higher damping ratio cases. In the final part of this study, three artificial ground motions compatible to de… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
