Spectroscopy‐based multi‐parametric quantification in subjects with liver iron overload at 1.5T and 3T

Abstract: Purpose: To evaluate the precision profile (repeatability and reproducibility) of quantitative STEAM-MRS and to determine the relationships between multiple MR biomarkers of chronic liver disease in subjects with iron overload at both 1.5 Tesla (T) and 3T.

“…[43][44][45] There are only a limited number of previous studies investigating similar single-voxel spectroscopybased methods for the efficient probing of multiple MR parameters including T 1 , T 2 , and PDFF. For example, Hamilton et al 44 and Simchick et al 46 proposed a multi-TR multi-TE STEAM acquisition scheme with a variable recovery delay for the simultaneous assessment of the PDFF and relaxation parameters in the liver. However, the proposed SHORTIE STEAM scheme has two favorable characteristics, when compared with multi-TR acquisition schemes.…”

“…Fitting of spectroscopy data was performed using a Linear Combination model implemented in FSL‐MRS 52 version 1.1.10, part of FSL (FMRIB's Software Library, http://www.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/fsl). Briefly, basis spectra were fitted to the complex valued spectrum in frequency domain with Voigt line shape 53,54 . The basis spectra were shifted and broadened with parameters fitted to the data grouped in two metabolites groups (water and lipids).…”

“…Various approaches have been employed for trend analysis of hydrological and meteorological data, including both parametric (linear regression) (Simchick et al, 2022) and nonparametric approaches (Ahmad et al, 2022). The MAKESENS trend model (Salmi et al, 2002) is extensively used to identify the trends of various hydrometeorological parameters (Kang et al, 2022).…”
