Abstract:Molecular emissions in multibubble sonoluminescence (MBSL) spectra offer a powerful experimental tool to probe the extreme conditions inside the cavitation bubbles. Emission spectra of OH(C 2 Σ + -A 2 Σ + ), OH(A 2 Σ + -X 2 Π) and NH(A 3 Π-X 3 Σ -) systems revealed the formation of nonequilibrium plasma during multibubble cavitation in aqueous solutions saturated with noble gases. In nonequilibrium plasma, the electron temperature (Te) exceeds the vibrational (Tv) and rotational (Tr) temperatures: Te>Tv>Tr≈Tg,… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
