Spectroscopic Studies of Nano Size Crystalline Conducting Polyaniline

Abstract: Polyaniline (PANI) 452, 7.468, 7.505, 7.525, 7.604, 7.638 ppm. The lower three peaks at (δ = 7.452, 7.468, 7.505 ppm) are attributed to the protons related to the 14 N nucleus. These spectral lines intensity ratio lies as 1:1:1. Another three peaks at (δ = 7.525, 7.604, 7.638 ppm)

“…48 This clearly indicated that upon coating of ES on the copper surface, the rate of HER increased in comparison with that on the Cu surface. 51,52 A broad peak at 8.65 ppm and a single peak at 9.3 ppm were also observed. This observation was in accordance with previous literature reports that stated that these 3 peaks were characteristic of 1 H coupled to 14N and confirmed the protonated state (N─H + ) of the PANI backbone.…”

“…50 A set of 3 doublets were also observed at 7.33, 7.36, and 7.46 ppm, which corresponded to the proton peak of ─CH at benzoid and quiniod rings. 51,52 A broad peak at 8.65 ppm and a single peak at 9.3 ppm were also observed. The former was assigned for a secondary amine (─NH) peak of PANI, while the latter was attributed to intermolecular hydrogen bonding between the solvent (H 2 O) and ─NH group of PANI.…”

“…The Raman frequency related to conductivity, for a 514 nm excitation line, is localized at frequencies between 1335 and 1339 cm -1 (Moráviková et al, 2012;Lapiński and Dubis, 2012). In the UV-Visible spectra, the protonated form of PAni shows absorption bands at 335 -340 nm, 440 -480 nm and 800 -870 nm (Rao et al, 2000;Kavitha et al, 2012). The frequencies relating to PAni protonated in FTIR spectra bands were found with very low intensities, indicating that these bands can be trace amounts.…”
