Spectroscopic Investigation of Polypeptide Plane Brushes

Abstract: Summary: Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) was used for determination of orientational and conformational characteristics of plane polypeptide brushes with different density of polypeptide chains grafted to modified silicon surface. Then, the dichroic ratio D of amide I over amide II adsorption can give a qualitative assessment of the average orientation of α-helical rod.
