Spectroscopic investigation of green synthesized ZnS nanoparticles encapsulated by sodium carboxy methyl cellulose

Abstract: In this article, the capping action of Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (NaCMC) on ZnS nanoparticles synthesized by microwave-assisted method is reported. The X-ray diffraction and electron diffraction studies corroborated nanocrystalline nature of cubic ZnS. Discontinuous cluster growth of particles was implied by optical absorption studies. This was reflected in transmission electron microscope images. Fourier-transform infrared studies confirmed NaCMC capping on the surface of ZnS nanoparticles. Effective enc… Show more

“…The peaks obtained at 1332 and 1266 cm –1 are due to −CH 2 wagging and twisting. The peak at 1110 cm –1 represents the −C–O–C stretching of glycosidic bonds, and the peak at 903 cm –1 is due to the cellulose backbone. , The Raman spectra of 3D-printed hBN/CMC were similar to that of the Raman spectra of 3D-printed CMC. The characteristic peak of hBN was not observed (Figure S1a).…”

“…The seed extract showed the absorption bands at 2973, 1568.1, 1380.71, and 1065.23 cm −1 corresponding to the C–H stretching, C–C stretching and C–H bending and C–O (alcohol) stretching vibrations, respectively. 51–54 With the exception of a little shift in peak location and intensity, the FTIR spectra of AgNPs and the seed extract exhibited remarkable resemblance. 55 FTIR examination of the produced IO and IO/Ag verified the seed extract's dual function as a capping and reducing agent as well as the existence of the identical functional groups within both particles.…”
