Spectral Duality Between Heisenberg Chain and Gaudin Model

Abstract: In our recent paper we described relationships between integrable systems inspired by the AGT conjecture. On the gauge theory side an integrable spin chain naturally emerges while on the conformal field theory side one obtains some special reduced Gaudin model. Two types of integrable systems were shown to be related by the spectral duality. In this paper we extend the spectral duality to the case of higher spin chains. It is proved that the N -site GL k Heisenberg chain is dual to the special reduced k + 2-po… Show more

“…(p, q)-webs and toric CY backgrounds have a natural symmetry, the spectral [27][28][29][30][31][32], or fiber-base, duality, which is also the S-duality of IIB strings. This duality connects gauge theories with different gauge groups and matter content, which, however, have the same partition functions and the same set of BPS particles: the instantons and W -bosons get exchanged.…”

“…Moreover, now we can also consider deformations of the section which do not preserve verticality, like the dotted one in figure 3, c), and everything can still be calculated. This should provide a qualitatively new insight into spectral dualities [89][90][91][92][93][94] associated with global rotations of the network graph.…”

“…1 S corresponds to rotation of the integer lattice by π 2 clockwise. The action of this element on the algebra realizes the spectral duality [72][73][74][75][76][77][78][79][80] of different representations: in particular, the central charge vector is rotated; the horizontal representations become the vertical ones and vice versa. The action of S is illustrated in figure 1.…”
