“…As dibenzyldithiocarbamic acid (DBTCA, Fig. 1) has been previously used as a coprecipitation agent 12,13 and chromatographic derivatization reagent 14 for the determination of Cd(II), Co(II), Cr (VI), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), Hg(II), Sb(III), Se(VI), Tl(I), Mn(II), Fe(III) and As(III), in this work a method for the simultaneous solvent extraction of Cd(II), Co(II), Cr (VI), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) as dibenzyldithiocarbamates with subsequent determination by AAS has been developed. Three ways for optimizing the solvent extraction step are discussed: from the individual metal absorbance, from the sum of the individual absorbances and using an overall desirability function.…”
