“…Last year the International Journal of Psychology (IJP) celebrated the 50th anniversary of its inception and the publication of Volume 1 in 1966, which was definitely a remarkable year: “On Aggression” by Konrad Lorenz was published in English; Luna 9 landed on the moon; and the Beatles began recording “Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.” To mark IJP's anniversary, we had a volume packed with research articles covering a broad spectrum of topics, plus two Special Sections that addressed the role of societal and cultural contexts: one guest‐edited by Patricia Greenfield on “Social change, cultural evolution, and human development,” (; IJP Volume 50, Issue 1, pages 4–59) and one edited by Peter Titzmann and Andrew Fuligni on “Immigrants' adaptation to different cultural settings: A contextual perspective on acculturation” (; IJP Volume 50, Issue 6, pages 407–462).
