Special issue on advances of adaptive control and signal processing methods for industrial control

Abstract

Adaptive control and signal processing technology has a long history of research and involves a combination of classical and newly emerging disciplines, based on results in mathematics and physics. These areas have evolved through industrial applications experience and are informed by industrial practice for solving control problems in machinery controls.The special issue is concerned with the discipline of 'fresh' and 'applicable' adaptive control and signal processing theories. The first part of the issue is focused on modern adaptive control technologies.The first paper is 'Nonlinear adaptive trackingcontrol synthesis for functionally uncertain systems' by Prof. Zwierzewicz [1] and introduces adaptive systems as intelligent control and application to marine vehicle.The second paper is 'Design of adaptive variable structure controllers for T-S fuzzy time-delay systems' by Dr Wu [2] and proposes adaptive variablecontrol of time-delay systems using LMI and fuzzy model.The last part of the issue is focused on update signal processing technologies.The first paper is 'A parallel implementation of 3D CT image reconstruction of the cell broadband engine'
