Speaker Normalization for Automatic Word Recognition

Abstract: Automatic word-recognition systems typically exhibit marked degradation in performance when used on speakers other than those who contributed the “learn” data. Extension of word-recognition systems to accommodate new speakers usually involves extensive retraining.
