Spatio-Temporal Changes in Air Quality of the Urban Area of Chongqing from 2015 to 2021 Based on a Missing-Data-Filled Dataset

Abstract: Air pollution is one of the severe environmental issues in Chongqing. Many measures made by the government for improving air quality have been put into use these past few years, while the influence of these measures remains unknown. This study analyzed the changes in the air quality of the urban area of Chongqing between 2015 and 2021 using a complete in situ observation dataset that all missing data were filled by the interpolation of a low-rank tensor completion model with truncate nuclear norm minimization … Show more

“…Some scholars have analyzed the changes in social spatial structures in Xi'an under the influence of different economic and social backgrounds [23]. A number of scholars have analyzed Urumqi [24,25], Wuhan [26,27], Changchun [28], Chongqing [29], Chengdu [30,31], and other cities [32] from different perspectives. Research into the social space structures of large cities in China is constantly expanding and deepening, and its research systems and methodologies are gradually improving.…”

“…This has drawn great attention of scholars to China's PM 2.5 pollutions, and thus, a considerable number of studies on the spatio-temporal changes of PM 2.5 have emerged. For example, PM 2.5 concentration data from ground-and satellite-based observations have been used to analyse the spatial and temporal variation patterns in Chongqing, Beijing, and other prefecture-level cities [6,20,21]. The results show that the calculated average and temporal variance are notably different between cities at prefecture-level, while the trends of those cities are consistent [22][23][24][25].…”
