Abstract: Objective: the study analyzed the spatio-temporal and epidemiological behavior of HVL in the state of Maranhão, between 2010 and 2020.   Theoretical framework: In Brasil, HVL is one of several diseases with compulsory notification, and is registered in 21 Federation Units, establishing itself in the five Brasilian regions.
