Spatial-Temporal Pattern and Driving Forces of Fractional Vegetation Coverage in Xiong’an New Area of China from 2005 to 2019

Abstract: The Xiong’an New Area was officially established in 2018 to construct a new, intelligent, and efficient urban area to alleviate Beijing’s non-capital functions. Using Landsat satellite images, we employed the dimidiate pixel model, band operation, and transition matrix to analyze the temporal and spatial variations in FVC (Fractional Vegetation Coverage) within the Xiong’an New Area in 2005, 2013, and 2019, respectively. Urbanization rate, precipitation, temperature, and population were considered potential dr… Show more

“…During the period spanning from 2019 to 2020, the Xiongan New Area emerged as the locality within the NCP that was predominantly affected by the highest levels of ozone pollution. This high level of pollution may be associated with the intensive urban construction and human activities that took place in the area during that period [56][57][58][59][60]. Figure 5d-f reveals the spatial distribution of the MDA8 exceedances for the months from 2019 to 2021 in the NCP.…”
