Spatial–Temporal Interaction Relationship between Ecosystem Services and Urbanization of Urban Agglomerations in the Transitional Zone of Three Natural Regions

Abstract: Clarifying the spatial interaction relationship between urbanization and multiple ecosystem services (ESs) is a prerequisite for reducing the impact of urbanization on the ecological environment and coordinating urbanization and ecological environmental protection. Urbanization is especially significant for ecologically fragile areas, where ecosystems are particularly sensitive to changes in urban patterns. This study considered the Lan–Xi (LX) urban agglomeration in three natural transitional regions using so… Show more

“…In addition, a high urbanization rate (nearly 50%) and a high population density (more than 320 persons/km 2 ) in the oversupply cities may be important factors impacting the balance between ES supply and demand. Some recent studies support our findings (Sahle et al 2018;Chen et al 2019;Dang et al 2020;Pan et al 2020;Wang et al 2022), reporting that rapid urbanization with a gradual increase in population has Authors' contributions All authors contributed to the study conception and design. Material preparation, data collection and analysis were performed by ZZ, FF and XC.…”
