Spatial-Temporal Evolution Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Vegetation Coverage in Tianjin Binhai International Airport

Abstract

Fractional vegetation coverage (FVC) is an important parameter of regional ecological environment quality. Taking Tianjin Binhai International Airport as the research center, Dongli District and Hedong District are selected as the research area, based on the Landsat remote sensing images from 2000 to 2019, and combined with the pixel dichotomy model to calculate FVC. Using linear regression and F-test to analyze the temporal and spatial evolution trend of FVC, using the coefficient of variation to analyze the fluctuation of FVC, the geographic detector model is used to explore the climatic factors (annual average temperature, annual precipitation), economic factors (population density, GDP) and human activity factors (take-off and landing sorties and passenger flow) to explain the strength of FVC. The result shows that the annual average FVC in the study area shows a downward trend as a whole from 2000 to 2019, and there were differences in the changing trends of different grades of FVC. The FVC in the study area fluctuates stably as a whole, and the vegetation coverage of Tianjin Binhai International Airport is low and the stability is poor. There are significant differences in the explanatory power of each influencing factor for FVC in the study area. The research results are of great significance to the environmental protection of airports and the sustainable development of airports.
