Spatial-Temporal Distribution Pattern and Tourism Utilization Potential of Intangible Cultural Heritage Resources in the Yellow River Basin

Abstract: In this study, the spatial-temporal distribution pattern and tourism utilization potential of national ICH are analyzed based on GIS technology in the Yellow River Basin. The results show that: (1) The national ICH of the Yellow River Basin is distributed in an aggregated spatial pattern with the characteristic of “one belt and two cores”. The cities in Shanxi, Henan and Shandong provinces constitute the high-density and sub-high-density continuous belts. Haidong and Chengdu are the high-density and sub-high-d… Show more

“…Research shows that the ICH in the Yellow River Basin shows a spatial distribution trend of agglomeration, which is characterized by sparse agglomeration in the east and sparse agglomeration in the west. This result is consistent with the research results of Chang et al [49] and Nie et al [50]. From the perspective of distribution location, the distribution of ICH in the Yellow River Basin is most profoundly affected by traffic arteries, rivers, basin areas with relatively flat terrain and dense water networks, and areas with developed economies or ethnic gatherings.…”

“…Kernel density analysis represents a technique for assessing the density of points by considering the effect of distance attenuation, thereby vividly illustrating the concentration level of point features [58,59]. In this research, the method of kernel density analysis was applied to examine the density characteristics of different CIL types using the following formula [60]:…”
