Spatial perception reproduction of sound event based on sound properties

Abstract: A new method for estimating gain factors in amplitude panning system is proposed. The method is based on particle velocity and balanced sound energy formulation. A scale factor is employed in amplitude panning system and thus, an overdetermined system of equation is derived in particle velocity equation. To obtain the analytic solution of the overdetermined equation, the sound energy identical formula is considered and then the unique gain factors are estimated. The proposed method is able to reproduce sound s… Show more

“…Although the proposed method improves the spatial perception, the reproduced sound field is not identical to the desired sound field. Sound field is determined by both sound pressure and its gradient, which is proportional to particle velocity 15‐17 . The proposed model is built on an assumption the same as shown in reference 8 .…”

“…Establishment of models: Discrete model was adopted for model establishment. As for GFRP-confined concrete short columns, there was no obvious difference in analysis results if friction is considered or not 8,9 . As the constraint effect of GFRP material on concrete is very strong, we assume GFRP tube, concrete and steel rebar or section steel are bonding fully with each other, the slip phenomena is not considered.…”

“…Meanwhile, because of restrictions for test conditions, experimental research has some limitations on practice, sometimes people only obtain several discrete data with limited quantity which is difficult to use to directly show the result of the whole structure under the stress 9 .…”

“…Unfortunately, there were infinite solutions since the fourth and fifth loudspeaker weight values were free variables and there were no experimental results to confirm the performance. Another amplitude technique developed by Zhang [8] kept particle velocity while sound pressure was not maintained.…”
