Spatial averaging effects in adverse pressure gradient turbulent boundary layers

Abstract: Thermal anemometry sensors for time-resolved velocity measurements average the measured signal over the length of their sensor, thereby attenuating fluctuations stemming from scales smaller than the wire length.
