Abstract:Purpose In the Netherlands, patients with a risk factor for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) carriage, such as foreign hospital stay and contact with livestock (pigs, veal calves and/or broilers) are actively screened upon hospital admission.
