In the realm of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM), this study introduces the Measurement Relying on the Impacts of an Exponential Curve Function (MIEXCF) as a novel approach for objectively determining criteria weight coefficients. Utilizing exponential curve interactions among criteria, MIEXCF is designed to enrich the MCDM literature. The dataset comprises criterion values extracted from Global Innovation Index (GII) evaluations for 19 G20 members. Results demonstrate the efficacy of MIEXCF in objectively deriving criteria weights for diverse nations. Comparative analyses with other methods (ENTROPY, CRITIC, SD, SVP, LOPCOW, MEREC) further validate MIEXCF's credibility, reliability, and stability. Notably, the simulation analysis indicates MIEXCF's effectiveness in discerning criteria weights and stability across scenarios. In conclusion, MIEXCF stands out as a robust objective criterion weighting technique, offering substantial contributions to exponential functions and the broader MCDM literature.

Social development is a vital element of sustainability. However, the fact that it is a wide-ranging and dynamic field makes the measurement of the concept difficult, and it reveals the need for updating its content depending on the developments. In the literature, social development has generally been measured with dimensions such as education, health, and gender equality. Today, however, technological indicators have become a part of social development and there is a need to prepare a new social development index to which information and communication technologies (ICT) are added. In this study, an index of social development including the ICT dimension were prepared and index calculations for Turkey were performed. There are twelve variables under four dimensions, namely ICT, education, health, and gender equality, in the index covering the years 2008–2020. Principal Component Analysis was used in the index calculation. The results of the analysis revealed that the values of the social development index in Turkey increased over time. However, the increase in social development needs to be continued. For this, more importance should be given to the dissemination of information and communication technologies, increasing the education level of the society, facilitating access to health services, and ensuring gender equality.

Beyond a Health Crisis: What Has Changed in Food Consumption Behaviour? A DEMATEL Method Application

The aim of this study is an attempt to determine the fundamental factors driving alterations in food consumption behaviour during pandemic days. The primary data of the study have been collected from 484 households in Turkey. In order to define the factors that are affecting changes in food consumption behaviour; first of all, the Stimulus-Response model has been constructed. Then, the DEMATEL method has been utilized to indicate and prioritize the position of the significant factors. It is noteworthy to further mention that by utilizing the DEMATEL method, our analysis rely on the findings of the model used but not depending on experts’ opinions. Somers’ D coefficients were computed for each pair of variables, in transforming the raw data into DEMATEL scores to expand the experience and benefit from multi-criteria method in using complex real life problems, in various fields. The findings indicate that the determining factors of food consumption turn out to be social factors, such as restrictions of restaurants, publicity posts on social media, having constrained to stay at home for a long period of time and eating with the family gatherings during the pandemic outbreak.
