Sorption of hydrogen by silica aerogel at low-temperatures

Abstract: The programmed thermal desorption method is used at temperatures of 7–95 K to study the sorption and subsequent desorption of hydrogen by a sample of silica aerogel. Physical sorption of hydrogen owing to the weak van-der-Waals interaction of hydrogen molecules with the silicon dioxide walls of the pores of the sample was observed over the entire temperature range.
