Corn cob as a low-cost adsorbent were used in the present work for the removal of toxic heavy metal Pb 2+ from aqueous solutions. Bath experiments were used to determine the best adsorption conditions. The equilibrium adsorption level was determined as a function of solution pH, temperature(T), contact time(tc), initial adsorbate concentration, and adsorbent dosage. Effective removal of metal ions was demonstrated at pH values of 6. Metal adsorption onto Corn cob was evaluated by Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. Results indicate that the Langmuir isotherm model is the most suitable one for the adsorption process using Corn cob(R 2 =0.9742), thus indicating the applicability of monolayer coverage of Pb(II) ion on Corn cob surface.The relationship between thermodynamic parameters was used to predict the absorption process. According to Thermodynamic analysis, the process endothermic and natural (∆H o =-16. ).

The fluoride adsorption on aluminum hydroxide coated rice husk ash material (RHA/Al(OH) 3 ) was demonstrated in this study. The isothermal data indicated that the Langmuir model well described the adsorption system with the maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of 8.2 mg.g -1 . The kinetic results revealed that the pseudo-second-order rate model fitted the experiments data better than the pseudo-first-order one. Furthermore, the adsorption of fluoride onto this material may be the chemical adsorption. Thermodynamic parameters (∆G o and ∆H o ) in the range of temperature from 30 to 70 o C showed that the adsorption was a spontaneous and an endothermic process. RHA/Al(OH) 3 could be used for well-treatment of fluoride contaminated well-water sampling in Ninhhoa district (Khanhhoa province). With the initial content of fluoride of 10.1 mg.L -1 and after 2 hours of treating with the dose of 4.0 ÷ 7.0 g.L -1 , the concentration of fluoride in the samples decreased to 0.5 ÷ 1.5 g.L -1 , that met acceptable limit of WHO.

In this study, HAp(hydroxyapatite) was prepared by hydrothermal method and was successfully modified by APTES (aminopropyltriethoxysilane) to obtain APTES‐HAp nanomaterial. Firstly, the microstructure and surface morphology of HAp and APTES‐HAp were studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and scanning electron microscope (SEM), and it was confirmed that HAp and APTES‐HAp composites were successfully synthesized. Secondly, SEM analysis is used to study the dispersion of APTES‐HAp in epoxy resin, and it is proved that the dispersion of HAp modified by APTES is greatly improved. Finally, the corrosion resistance of the composite coating was studied in detail by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results show that the APTES‐HAp /EP composite coating impedance modulus remains 107. The breakpoint frequency (fb) is always the minimum after 30 days of immersion, which proves that the corrosion resistance of APTES‐HAp /EP composite coating is significantly improved APTES‐HAp/EP. The improvement of corrosion resistance is mainly attributed to the following two points: APTES‐HAp has good uniform dispersion and interfaces compatibility in epoxy resin, forming an effective barrier network. On the other hand, layered HAp forms physical barriers and maze effects on corrosive media.
