Sonophotocatalytic degradation of trypan blue and vesuvine dyes in the presence of blue light active photocatalyst of Ag3PO4/Bi2S3-HKUST-1-MOF: Central composite optimization and synergistic effect study

Abstract: An efficient simultaneous sonophotocatalytic degradation of trypan blue (TB) and vesuvine (VS) using Ag3PO4/Bi2S3-HKUST-1-MOF as a novel visible light active photocatalyst was carried out successfully in a continuous flow-loop reactor equipped to blue LED light. Ag3PO4/Bi2S3-HKUST-1-MOF with activation ability under blue light illumination was synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), photoluminescence (PL) and diffuse reflectan… Show more

“…MOFs are generally constructed by coordination of metal ions clusters and organic ligands, which have developed very successfully in recent years. In the last 10 years, there have been many papers published on the use of MOFs in adsorptive removal of dyes . However, finding MOFs with high efficiency to adsorb specific organic dyes is a crucial task .…”

“…Central composite design (CCD) is a statistical and mathematical technique that widely used for modeling of input data (independent variables) and analysis of response/output (dependent variable) The purpose of CCD is to simultaneously optimize the levels of selected input parameters to obtain the best response. CCD is used to investigated the effect of individual and interactions of input parameters on the response.…”
