Sonography of the Pelvic Infection

Abstract: The sonographic diagnosis of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a challenge for the sonographer. Sonographic diagnosis is possible when tube enlarges and liquid accumulates inside the fallopian tube, a sign that can be detected with vaginal probes. As the disease progresses, more complex images are found depending on the enlarging of the adnexa and the accumulation of necrotic material.
