Abstract:Diabetes mellitus (DM) and hypertension (HTN) are the two leading risk factors for atherosclerosis. Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) is considered a reliable surrogate measure for detecting subclinical atherosclerosis including its progression and regression.
