Abstract. Mereology as an art of composing complex concepts out of simpler parts is suited well to the task of reasoning under uncertainty: whereas it is most often difficult to ascertain whether a given thing is an element of a concept, it is possible to decide with belief degree close to certainty that the class of things is an ingredient of an other class, which is sufficient for carrying out the reasoning whose conclusions are taken as true under given conditions. We present in this work a scheme for reasoning based on mereology in which mereology in the classical sense is fuzzified in analogy to the concept fuzzification in the sense of L. A. Zadeh. In this process, mereology becomes rough mereology.

“…Referirse a los conceptos científicos en la enseñanza de las ciencias, como modos de pensar y modos de hablar, implica entenderlos comprendiendo su origen en términos socioculturales (Piaget y García, 1984;Fleck, 1927Fleck, , 1986Vygotsky, 1995Vygotsky, , 2000Vygotsky, , 2007Elkana, 1977;Molina, 2000aMolina, , 2000bMolina, 2004Molina, , 2005Molina, , 2007, o como elaboración de sentido a partir de su uso en contextos específicos (Bruner, 1990;Wittgenstein, 1996), o como significado (Blikstein, 1985;Machado, 1995;Arca, Guidoni y Mazzoli, 1990); estas tres opciones permiten vincular la elaboración de conceptos y nociones con la cultura.…”
This review was undertaken with the aim of revealing the modes of thinking and modes of speaking on the equilibrium concept; it is an exploratory and descriptive study, carried out from the contexts analysis of the sources studied. The analysis takes into account the sense and meaning of thinking and speaking modes: thinking and speaking modes on the equilibrium, thermodynamic equilibrium and the phenomenon of thermal equilibrium. Different kinds of modes of thinking and speaking about equilibrium were found and they gave us the option of analyzing facts based on ontological and epistemological foundations that allow researches connect the knowledge with the cultural contexts of communities. This review will help researchers construct a background for the Doctoral study that proposes the following research question: ¿What is the conceptual profile of thermal equilibrium in people of two culturally different communities? and will be carried out in the Interinstitutional PhD in Education at Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas in Bogotá, Colombia.
“…Fleck 1927and Canguilhem 1991[1966 and the ethical value enshrined in projects that emphasize the "advancement of human health" as their goal, oftentimes with explicit community-outreach mandates and aspirations. On the other hand, translational research also forces us to ask what contemporary biomedical "knowledge" might mean, and to whom, given the variety of domains and circumstances under which it is produced, circulated and used.…”
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
