Some problems of the IEC single sheet tester measurement method for electrical steel sheet from a view point of material evaluation

Abstract: A study is carried out based on the evaluation of IEC-standard. Two measurement results on N.O. magnetic steel sheets, one from S-SST (Stress load type single sheet tester developed in our research laboratory), another is from SST based on the IEC standard regulation, are compared and discussed. As a result of the measurements, both magnetization curves coincide mostly, but magnetic power loss determined by IEC method is larger than that achieved by S-SST. The differences between them may be caused by magnetic… Show more

“…GB/T 39042-2020 "Single Piece Magnetic Properties Test of Electrical Steel H-coil Method" in Chinese specifies a method to measure the magnetic properties of oriented silicon steel using the H-coil method [6] . This method directly measures magnetic performance through induced voltage without specifying the effective magnetic circuit length, eliminating the magnetic property deviation caused by different magnetic circuit lengths, making it closer to the true value [7] .…”

“…Moreover it is sometimes needed to know precise magnetic properties in high flux density range. For this reason, we developed a stress load type single sheet tester(S-SST) though the stress is not applied in this study [2,3]. On the magnetic measurement, Japan Industrial Standard (JIS) stipulates for H-coil and magnetizing current methods as a means for magnetic field detection.…”
